> hold luggage
 

 useful information to help you pack

  Some items are strictly prohibited on board, including:
- explosives (fireworks, firecrackers, …),
- ammunitions,
- flammable liquids (campstove, petrol, …),
- corrosive products (car batteries, detergents,…),
- tear gas,
- radioactive materials,
- toxic materials...

Feel free to ask your travel agency or airline if in doubt.

You may feel more comfortable carrying a rigid suitcase with a keylock or a code. Wheels will also prove very useful if you have to walk long distances with your luggage.
 
Your luggage must not exceed 300 centimeters (height+length+width).
 
Gels and liquids must be packed in your hold luggage, except for medecine you may need during your flight.
 
Put all heavy items at the bottom end of your luggage.
 
Do not carry valuable items in your hold luggage.
 
Carefully wrap any fragile items, especially bottles.
 
Roll up your clothing, it will take less space and will remain smooth
 
Put your shoes in individual plastic bags and place them in each corner of your luggage. Put your socks inside your shoes, thus preventing your shoes for stretching out of shape, and saving luggage space.
 
Make sure that the total weight of your hold luggage does not exceed your allowance, clearly stated on your plane ticket. In case of luggage overweight, you may be required to pay extra fees.
 
Every single piece of luggage shall not exceed 32 kilos.
 
You may add to each luggage a distinctive sign (ribbon, sticker) to make bags  recovering easier at destination.
 
 

useful tips before check-in

Remove all name tags from previous tips.

Write your name and address in and on your luggage. The address can be your home address or your destination adress, where you can be easily contacted. Name tags are available at the airport's information desk and check-in desks.
 
Keep your medical treatments and prescriptions with you.
 
Do not accept any luggage or parcels from third parties, whatever the reason.
 
Do not leave your luggage unattended even for a short time. It might become suspicious and be destroyed. Please report to airport staff any unattended luggage or parcel.
 
We strongly advise that you lock your luggage.

 

> oversize luggage and sport equipment
 

Oversize luggage (bicycle, golf clubs, surfboards, musical instruments,...) will be checked-in along your regular luggage, at the same chec-in desk. Nevertheless, their transportation is subject to specific agreement from the airline and a fee may be applicable.
 
Inform your ailine as early as possible if you are travelling with an oversized luggage.
 
You may get further information from your carrier or travel agency.
 
Each piece of luggage must not exceed 32 kilos.
 
 

> cardboard boxes and unusual wrapping

Cardboard boxes and items with unusual wrapping will be checked-in with your regular luggage, at the check-in desk dedicated to your flight. Nevertheless, their transportation is subject to specific agreement from the airline and a fee may be applicable. Acceptance of unusually wrapped items by the carrier is exceptionnal.

Airline and airport cannot be held responsible for any damage to items carried in cardboard boxes or unusual wrapping wich does not have the normal resistance of a regular luggage.

> accompanied freight luggage

You may carry freight with you. These items will be checked in with your regular luggage, at the same counter.
 
These items are subject to a declaration to the customs, both on departure and at destination.

Your hand luggage is essential as it will contain all the documents necessary to your travel, medical treatments, toiletry and what you need for your baby.

Check-in and security controls prior to boarding will be easier and faster if you have carefully packed your hand luggage.

useful tips to help you pack your hand luggage

 
Some items are strictly forbidden on board a plane, for instance:
- all products prohibited to transport on board an airplane (explosives, ammunitions , corrosive products, gas, radioactive materials or toxic products, …)
- guns, real ones as well as fake ones
- knives and sharp instruments,
- blunt instruments (baseball bats, skatboards, golf clubs,…),
- liquids, sprays, gels and pastes in packaging over 100ml (drinks, mineral water, soups, perfumes, lotions, creams, liquid soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, sprays…).
  
Medical syringes, umbrellas, walking sticks, disposable razors, electronic devices are accepted on board.

Which products are subject to regulations?
- liquids (drinks, soups, perfumes, lotions, liquid soaps, syrups, shampoo, …)
- sprays
- gels (soaps, creams, …) 
- pastes (toothpaste, jams, tins of paté, corned beef,…)
 
 
Already prepared sandwiches are accepted.
  
 
Items bought from the airport's tax free shop are accepted under conditions: they must be in a sealed plastic bag and purchase ticket must be visible, for passengers with a connecting flight.
 
What is prohibited ?
Liquids, sprays, gels and pastes in a container of more than 100 ml are prohibited on board.
The container capacity is the indicator: a bottle of perfume of 150ml will be declined, even if it's half empty.
 
How shall allowed products be packed ? 
All products must be assembled in a plastic bag, maximum 1 litre contenance (for instance, freezer bag 20cm x 20 cm or a transparent toiletry bag).
 
Exceptions
The following items are exceptionally tolerated on board:
- liquid medicine that you may need during your flight, you will be asked to show a medical prescription to your name,
- prouducts bought from the duty free shop (sealed by the shop, with the sales receipt visible through the bag)
- baby food if you are travelling with a baby or young child. Please use containers that can be opened as you may be asked to taste the food during security check.
 
If you have any doubt, do not hesitate to ask your travel agency or airline


Remember to pack in your hold luggage any item prohibited on board.
 
Try not to wrap your gifts as the might be inspected.
 
If your luggage has different pockets, may we advise you to save one pocket for your travel documents (ID or passport, plane ticket, hotel bookings, ...)

The 3 sizes of your luggage added is limited to 115 centimeter (height+length+width).

 
On Air Mauritius ATR72 flights, trolleys might not be accepted on board, especially during peak season, because of a lack of space; they will be put in the hold and will be given back to you when you get off the plane in Mauritius.
 

Make sure that the total weight of your luggage does not exceed your weight allowance, otherwise the airline has the right not to accept your hand luggage and to charge you fees to load it in the hold.
 
Weight allowance varies according to destinations and airlines.

You are allowed to carry an unlimited amount of money. Yet, for an amount, stocks or securities above 10,000 euros, a customs declaration is compulsury.

We advise you to get information before you leave, regarding the regulation at destination.

counterfeiting

 
Export, import or simple possession of a counterfeit product is strictly against french law, whatever the country of origin and even for items destined to personal use.

Law has been reinforced and buying a counterfeit item exposes you to heavy sanctions: immediate confiscation of the item, heavy customs fines, legal proceedings.
